For Art Rotterdam 2026, JOEY RAMONE and CHAxART present Human-Made Cultural Landscape, featuring works by Linhuei Chen and Tong Xindi & Shen Ting. The presentation considers landscape not as a fixed view of nature, but as something continuously shaped by natural forces, human intervention, and cultural memory. Chen's recent project 1953 draws on archival materials and children's letters from the North Sea Flood, reworking fragments of disaster and remembrance. Tong Xindi & Shen Ting use self-built machinery and custom programs in ceramic production, creating forms that balance control and chance. Together, the artists examine how landscapes are continually constructed, negotiated, and transformed.
